Hip hop music is also known as rap music. This music belongs to the culture of the late 1960s and the early 1970s. It was an exciting American music during the 1970’s and later it became very important part of the modern music culture and style. The roots of hip hop music are West African and Afro-American. Hip hop music is based on basically two main components of the music.- Rapping
- DJing
Hip hop also includes hip hop dance which is inspired by urban art. This music culture was started in the inner city and became very famous in the youth. Let’s talk how hip hop music initially evolved. It all started during the beginning of the summer of 1970s in the New York City. A young man, who migrated from Jamaica about three years ago and named Kool Herc, began spinning in the park for the first time in the South Bronx. What was the main thing, which made him different from others? That was his looping of certain parts of records. He took the part of the song track and replayed it back and forth using two turntables and a mixer. In this way, a new sort of song was created, a repeated groove on which he would dance too.
This new kind of music spread and along with Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa and Grandmaster Flash also started pumping of this new music. Basically, hip hop music
constitutes rhythmic lyrics making, using various techniques such as alliteration, assonance and rhyme. The golden period of hip hop music was 1986 to 1992 when a Run D.M.C’s launched their album with (the) name of “Raising Hell”. This album got popularity among people and (the) people started to take interest in hip hop music.
The typical instruments for hip hop music are turntable, rapping, drum, machine, sampler, human beatboxing and synthesizer.
Techno is an electronic form of music that got popularity during 1800s in Detroit, Michigan. Techno music was influenced by electro, new wave, futuristic, Chicago house and funk. The invention of techno music is solely credited to D.J Ben Russell. It was firstly appeared on Detroit local radio. Techno cultural regions are Detroit, Michigan, the United States of America. Afterwards it moved to Italy, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. The typical instruments for creation of techno music are keyboard, synthesizer, drum machine, sampler and sequencer. There are many ways to create techno music but the most authentic and typical way for techno music production is the compositional technique.
