Since the music evolved and took place in human lives, it has been characterized in different musical periods. Different generations developed new musical instruments and developed new music using distinctive instruments. Music in western culture is basically influenced by various factors such as formalization of improvised traditions, development of tuning system, growth of notations, role of patronage, innovative approaches to form, treatment of text, absorption of various cultures in the style, investigation of performance, practice, growth of technology and numerous other factors.The Classical music is a term which has three different meanings:
- European tradition of music, which is associated with high culture.
- Tradition as well as similar non-European culture.
- An exacting period in the improvement of European musical art traditions.
The period of the Classical music in the European tradition is considered to be started from 1730 – 1820 to avoid confusions. The Classical music induces the classical traditions and focuses on formal style. It also involves technical and detailed deconstruction and gets focused attention of music listeners. The Classical music is written down using notations and also known as notated version of music. The Classical music is significantly known as a written musical tradition. The Classical music concerts are usually organized in a somber atmosphere where the audience has to stay silent to enjoy the classical music and to avoid distracting the concentration of other listeners.
The Classical music performers usually dress themselves formally and with their gestures they show respect for the classical music and the audience. Country music is the first half of Billboard’s country and western music category. Country music was invented from popular musical form founded in the Southern United States primarily. Country music was influenced by the early 20th century culture actually and its cultural origins are Appalachia, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee.
The typical instruments which are used for country music are guitar, steel guitar, bass, drum, dobra, fiddle, banjo, harmonica and mandolin. Country music has produced world famous solo artists such as Elvis Presley “The Hillbilly Cat”, Johnny Cash “Man In Black” are the most famous and it has influenced country singers and top selling solo artists.

Jazz represents integration and melding of various people and their inheritances. During the 18th Century in America's south, music was an essential part of the life of agricultural estate of the African descent. The cultivated area, songs, and field hollers were a part of everyday life to celebrate, entertain and to escort the hard work. This music of the agricultural estate merged with the European American musical tradition from which Jazz developed.
