To install these different types of LCD monitors like roof, headrest or in-dash monitor, some disassembly of the mounting location will be required.

To install LCD monitor in a roof panel you will have to drop the car’s headliner and cut a hole through it in order to route your wiring through it.

In case of headrest LCD monitor, you have two options of installation. First option is that you can install LCD monitor in your existing headrest and the second one option is that if you want to keep your genuine headrest safe and in genuine condition then you can get a new headrest with pre-fitted LCD monitor. If you opt for LCD installation in your existing headrest, then you have to remove your headrest from your car seat, make a cut into your car headrest depending on the states of new LCD monitor and install a frame. Once the frame is set in, wrap the headrest material around the frame and snap the monitor into the frame, this should hold the entire assembly together. You can often route the video wiring through the headrest bars into the seat and through the inside of the seat to the floor as well.

For console LCD monitor you will have to remove the console and replace a piece of it or you have to replace the whole console. But it depends upon the size and shape of the LCD monitor.

In all cases, disassembling other parts of car will be vital to route your video cable. If you wish to install a portable LCD monitor, then its installation is simpler as compared to others. This type of monitor is mounted on a carrier that hangs from the back of a driver or passenger seat. All you have to do is to plug the power adapter into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter.
